About

I’m a Craft CMS developer and UI/UX designer based in Sydney, Australia. I specialise in projects that require more than a standard CMS implementation—custom modules, plugin development, complex content architecture, ecommerce, external system integrations, and carefully designed frontend experiences.

As the founder of X2 Network and CraftyFM, I work across both the technical and visual sides of a project. I can design an intuitive interface, build the frontend, structure the Craft CMS implementation, and develop the custom backend functionality needed to support the business behind it.

This combination allows me to see a website as more than a collection of pages. I consider the complete system: how customers interact with it, how editors manage it, how information moves between platforms, and how the solution will perform and evolve over time.

Craft CMS Development

I develop tailored Craft CMS solutions for businesses with requirements that cannot be solved cleanly using off-the-shelf plugins alone.

My Craft CMS work includes:

  • Custom module development
  • Custom plugin development
  • Craft Commerce implementation and customisation
  • Advanced content modelling
  • Sections, entry types, Matrix fields and nested content structures
  • Project Config and content migration workflows
  • Console commands and automated data processes
  • Custom Control Panel utilities and editor experiences
  • Twig component and template development
  • API, webhook and external service integrations
  • Data imports, exports and synchronisation
  • Legacy system integration
  • Craft CMS upgrades and ongoing maintenance
  • Technical troubleshooting and performance optimisation

I place considerable importance on the content editor’s experience. A well-built Craft website should not only look good to the visitor; it should also make sense to the people responsible for maintaining it.

Custom Modules and Plugins

A significant part of my work involves extending Craft CMS to meet specialised business requirements.

This can include developing modules and plugins that:

  • Connect Craft with FileMaker, CRMs, accounting platforms and other business systems
  • Process data received from APIs and webhooks
  • Automate repetitive publishing or administration tasks
  • Add specialised Control Panel interfaces
  • Extend Craft Commerce order and transaction workflows
  • Generate dynamic social and Open Graph imagery
  • Import and transform large or complex datasets
  • Introduce custom validation and business rules
  • Coordinate information between Craft and external databases
  • Provide reporting, auditing and operational tools

I aim to make custom development feel like a natural part of Craft rather than something attached awkwardly to the side of it.

Craft Commerce and Ecommerce

I work with Craft Commerce to build ecommerce experiences that are closely aligned with the client’s products, internal processes and customer journey.

My ecommerce experience includes:

  • Product and variant architecture
  • Custom checkout experiences
  • Stripe and PayPal integration
  • Payment and webhook troubleshooting
  • Order, transaction and refund workflows
  • Customer account functionality
  • Inventory and external product-data integration
  • Search and product discovery
  • Transactional email and invoice workflows
  • Connections with fulfilment, CRM and legacy business systems
  • Commerce reporting and data exports

Where required, I can work beyond the storefront and help connect Craft Commerce with the operational systems used to manage customers, products, orders and payments.

Frontend Development

My backend development experience is complemented by strong frontend and interface design skills. I can take a project from early interface concepts through to a complete Craft CMS implementation.

My frontend experience includes:

  • Semantic HTML
  • Modern CSS
  • Tailwind CSS
  • JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Twig component development
  • Vite-based frontend workflows
  • Responsive interface development
  • Design systems and reusable component libraries
  • Interactive application-style interfaces
  • Ecommerce and conversion-focused design
  • Performance-conscious frontend implementation
  • Accessibility and SEO-aware markup

I prefer component-driven frontend architecture that keeps the design consistent while making the system easier to maintain and extend.

UI/UX and Product Design

My UI/UX work is grounded in practical business use rather than visual decoration alone. I design interfaces around the tasks people need to complete and the information they need to understand.

This includes:

  • Website and application interface design
  • Customer journey and workflow design
  • Wireframes and interactive prototypes
  • Ecommerce product and checkout experiences
  • Dashboard and business application interfaces
  • Control Panel and content-editor workflows
  • Design systems and component specifications
  • Responsive behaviour and mobile usability
  • Information hierarchy and navigation
  • Conversion-focused landing pages
  • Usability improvements for complex systems

Because I also implement the systems I design, I understand the technical consequences of design decisions and can create interfaces that are both ambitious and realistic to build.

Experience Highlights

  • Developed Craft CMS websites and ecommerce systems for publishing, retail, professional services and other data-intensive businesses.
  • Created custom Craft plugins and modules for content generation, data transformation, administration and third-party integration.
  • Built Craft Commerce integrations involving payments, transactions, refunds, webhooks and external order data.
  • Connected Craft CMS with FileMaker and other operational systems, allowing website activity to become part of a larger business workflow.
  • Developed automated Open Graph image generation for Craft Commerce products using product imagery, titles, pricing and branded graphic elements.
  • Designed structured content models that give editors flexibility without allowing the visual presentation of the website to become inconsistent.
  • Converted completed frontend designs and static HTML into fully editor-managed Craft CMS implementations.
  • Worked with established Craft CMS 5 projects while also researching and testing the architectural and command-line changes introduced in Craft CMS 6.
  • Designed reusable interface systems for websites, ecommerce platforms, dashboards and custom business applications.
  • Diagnosed complex issues involving Craft Commerce, Stripe, PayPal, server configuration, security headers, webhooks and external APIs.
  • Managed projects across the complete lifecycle, including planning, interface design, development, deployment, hosting and ongoing support.

How I Work

I work particularly well on projects that sit between design, software development and business operations.

Rather than treating the website, CMS and internal systems as separate projects, I look for ways to make them operate as one coherent platform. This is especially valuable for businesses with unusual workflows, existing databases, large product catalogues or requirements that do not fit a standard website package.

I can work independently on an entire Craft implementation or collaborate with agencies, designers, frontend developers and internal development teams. I am equally comfortable discussing interface details with a designer, content structures with an editor, or implementation architecture with a backend developer.

My approach is practical, direct and focused on building systems that remain useful long after the initial launch.
