Messaging System

Developers and Companies can communicate privately and easily.

Work With Craft includes a native messaging system for Developers and Companies to talk directly without sharing their email addresses.

Free and Private

Free to use the messaging system

Chats between Developers and Companies are completely free, regardless of who starts the conversation.

The goal is to connect Developers and Companies with less friction than a traditional application process.

Keep your email address private

Messages live inside Work With Craft, so your email address isn't exposed unless you choose to share it.

You'll receive a separate email notification about each new message, unless you choose to disable notifications.

Easily apply for Jobs

It's never been easier to apply for a job. When you see a Job listing on the site, click the big orange Send a message button to apply for it.

That starts a private thread between yourself and the Company which posted the job. Neither side shares an email address, everything stays inside Work With Craft.

Or ask follow-up questions

Need clarification? Send a quick message to the Company who posted the job listing.

Anyone on the Company's team can reply on their behalf.

Companies can contact Developers

Reach out to top prospects

A Company can message Developers and invite them to apply.

Browse the Developers directory, find someone promising, and ping them directly.

Protection from abuse

Enable or disable messaging at any time

If you'd rather not be contacted at all, it's very easy to disable inbound messages.

Developers can be contacted by default, since being reachable is partially the point of a listed profile. Companies cannot be contacted by default, but can enable messaging if they'd like.

Worth noting that a Job listing can open a channel about that Job, even if the Company cannot otherwise be contacted. Whoever posts the Job decides whether to accept messages about it.

Report abusive messages

If a conversation ever makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, we encourage you to Report the chat. The conversation will be reviewed by system Admins, and appropriate measures will be taken.

Abuse or spam of any kind will not be tolerated on Work With Craft!

To prevent spam:

  • A new account must wait 24 hours before reaching out to a Developer for the first time.
  • Developers cannot directly message other Developers. One of the two parties must represent a Company.
